Good Biodesign is

_I. Good Biodesign thinks in relations.

_____ Objects of biodesign are related to all organs of the earthly biosphere. Recognizing the interdependencies and the influence that artificial organisms can exert on this fragile system is at the heart of all considerations. A desired benefit that a designed organism should achieve has to submit to the ability of integration.-

_II.Good Biodesign is incredibly slow.

_____ The complexity that is automatically revealed by weighing up interdependencies forces a slow procedure. Even the smallest changes can develop a devastating range.-

_III. Good Biodesign is as little Biodesign as possible.

_____ By small changes of the genetic material it can be guaranteed that organisms become compatible with the environment. Far-reaching changes represent a risk, since they can disable an organism‘s survival or pose a risk to interacting organisms through fundamentally new cellular processes. –

_IV. Good Biodesign asks.

_____ Every development requires precision. The initial situation is never the same and requires to question the prevailing relations.-

_V. Good Biodesign is not godly.

_____ Humans are fallible. To accept opposites as biodesigners prevents the necessary openness for the design process in a dynamic ecosystem and testifies to dangerous omnipotence fantasies.-

_VI. Good Biodesign is inhuman.

_____ Access to the human genome is not a question of design.-

_VII. Good Biodesign is a responsibility.

_____ Responsibility in biodesign is indispensable. Even if not all consequences of product development are foreseeable: Responsibility beats negligence.-

_VIII. Good Biodesign dies.
